Ilka Hartmann’s photography captures rare moments of people doing incredible actions. Whether its protesting, building or celebrating, and in this case farming, she knows when it’s the right moment to pick up her camera. “When I saw Leah cutting with such power, I put down my baby that I was holding in my arms and started to photograph her immediately. I went through three rolls of film which I could easily make its own book from, but I remember waiting again for precisely this moment when she wielded the scythe, this instrument of death and swung it with all her might all the way back across her shoulder, and this was the one.”
To make this powerful photograph accessible, we have decided to produce a limited edition poster available for pre-orders only. Available to order today, on the occasion of the last week of her exhibition “Community / Humanity” at Chiron-House. Pick ups on Friday, August 23rd the last day to view her show. Shipping optional for a $15 fee (materials to either flatpack or tube plus shipping fee).
